This is response to Judgement Boy video about Chara. If you didn't watch this, go watch it now. And if some people are confused about Chara's gender in this journal, it's because in my opinion, Chara is a boy, and Toby Fox said that everyone can interpretate Frisk and Chara's gender how they want, so please, don't say about it on the comments. Thank you, and have fun reading... Chara Icon

Hi guys!
Today I wanted to make a journal about a video that I watched some months or even year ago. If you don't know what I'm talking about, I mean this particular video. In this video says that Chara is not responsible for genocide and in reality he is a good person, and all the evil things that Frisk did was all player's fault. Everyone in fandom probably seen it. At first, everything was having sense in this video for me. But someday, I was thinking about things that weren't brought up in the video. And I wil brought it up now, in this journal. As probably everyone knows, when you enter Asgore's house and you will go to (probably) Chara and Asriel's room, there is two unopened gifts on the ground. One has a Heart Locket (or the Locket, depending on a route), the other one has Worn Dagger (or a Real Knife, depending on a route). So, the locket probably belonged to Asriel. And what item was for Chara? You guess it, a knife. But... if Chara is a good person, why should he need knife? Some people would say that he would use it for defense, if some monster would attack him. But I don't really think so. In that video, it said, that Chara would choose mercy, rather than fight button. Why would he need a knife then, if he was sparing everyone? I don't even think there would be a chance that some monster would attack him, if he was "hope for all the underground". Okay, enough of the knife, let's talk about Genocide Run, the route what Chara is associated with. In this video, it is said, that Chara is a good person, "an angel like" person, right? Then, how about the theme when you encounter him? Does this theme sounds like a harpe of an angel? Or a pretty relaxing and nice theme? No. Instead, it sound's creepy. While encountring him, in video, it says that Chara is not responsible, and again, he is a good person. Hmm... How about that: if Chara is a good person, why won't he stop Frisk when she went on a killing spree and Genocide Route? He was just watching you how you murder your friends, and he wasn't even doing anything. Even in the save point, he says the number of people you need to kill. Like, he encourages you to still do it. And in Sans fight, he says that description about Sans: "The easiest enemy. Can only deal 1 damage. Can't keep dodging forever. Keep attacking." To me, it looks like he is saying to you, that you should still keep going. Because Determination. All right... in this video it is said, that Chara is not responsible to all the horrible things Frisk has done. Then why he says: "Together we eradicated the enemy, and became strong." It sounds like he says, that he was part of that. Also he encourages you to do another Genocide Route: " Let us erase this pointless world, and move on to the next." Also, in this meeting, if Chara is good, and never killed anybody, then why killing Frisk then? He knew that Frisk wouldn't defeat him, instead, he attacks her. And if you think that, like Judgement Boy said, that Chara isn't a demon, then look at his face when he does that jumpscare, when you don't want to erase the entire world. Does a human can do that? I'm not quite sure. And that's the end. Do you really still think, that Chara is a good person, not a demon, that only wants everyone dead? Okay, that's your opinion. To me, Chara IS that demon. But I respect Judgement Boy video theory though. It has good arguments, but sometimes, those arguments won't change everyone's mind. And that's me, guys ;p If you want to discuss about it in the comments, go ahead. I will not stop you.

EDIT: I ALSO WANTED TO SAY SOME OTHER THINGS, SUCH AS:
- People sometimes say that Chara is just a kid, and they don't know what is happening. They also sometimes say that a child couldn't kill anyone. Well, you're wrong. The style that Chara speaks is so mature like, Chara does not "have no idea about anything",
- Also when you spare Snowdrake in Genocide Run, Chara says "The comedian got away. Failure." ,
- The whole "Chara was probably abused" theory is stupid. Because of some ribbon and that descripton "Chara" said, it meant for everyone that Chara was abused. Not really. Ribbon belonged to cyan soul, so probably it was about that kid, not Chara,
- Even Asriel says that Chara wasn't a great person. C'mon guys, isn't that enough evidence?

EDIT2: I just wanted to add some people's comment that I think should be worth mentioning!:
This is only my opinion : There is absolutely NO sign of anyone, even Chara, knowing about "PLAYER" throughout the whole game, all 3 routes. Chara DOES mention "HP, ATK, DEF, XP, LV" at the end of the genocide route, but nothing of "PLAYER" . So personally, I think breaking the 4th wall never happens in Undertale, stats are a real thing. Breaking the 4th wall would be knowing "PLAYER" was a thing.

While the player is the real bad guy for committing Genocide, it was Chara that wanted to destroy the entire world and wipe the game clean. And if you play True Pacifist and go all the way back to the start before you finally go up to the surface with the monsters, you can speak to Asriel, who, after a lengthy conversation, will say "Maybe, after all, Chara wasn't a good person". And it was Chara's plan that sparked the game's events in the first place. If it weren't for Chara, Asriel would still be alive. Chara's plan was to start genocide all along. It's a simple fact. If it weren't for Chara, Asgore wouldn't have demanded that all humans be killed. If Frisk hadn't come along and it was some other human child, Asgore would have collected the 7th soul, climbed to the surface, and waged war against the humans. That was Chara's plan all along. It's kind of obvious once you've seen all the neutral, pacifist, and genocide routes.

Tenacity If you observe how Chara treats Asriel in the tapes, as well as the way Chara acts, its clear that they are a cold blooded murderer far before genocide. Chara pushes Asriel around, calling him crybaby, and laughs off Asgore's near death experience. Also, if you subscribe to the "Chara is narrator" theory, there are multiple times in the game where they will laugh at suffering. The dog food bag for instance, if you kill all the dog troop in snowdin, even on a neutral route, when checking the dog food in alphys's lab, the narrator will comment "You just remembered something funny". The narrator will also laugh at the amalgamates, followed usually by text saying "oh, you didn't do that?" This is present in many other parts of the game as well.
___________________________________________________________________________
I've watched both of those videos before, and they didn't convince me. Laughing is one way to deal with pain sure, but there is no point in which Chara indicates that they felt even remotely moved by the genocide path. On the point about the Dreemurs, Chara didn't kill them because they needed the Dreemurs so that they could get revenge on humanity. Chara manipulated Asriel (As I said before, shown in the tapes, thus why Alphys says she "Shouldn't show this to Asgore")in order to get to the surface and take revenge against humanity and not to save monster kind, in fact that was never their intention to begin with. If Chara is so apparently misunderstood, why is it that flowey IMMEDIATELY recognizes us as Chara on the genocide route? Why does Chara immediately ask for knives in the ruins, even though Genocide has barely started and therefore they shouldn't be evil at this point? Why does Flowey describe Chara as "not giving any worthless pity" and "Mak(ing) them love you" in both the Genocide and True pacifist routes? Chara's only goal is to get to the surface and destroy humanity, they do this in both soulless pacifist endings, and its clear even from when they were alive that was their goal from day 1. Also, just a little quip about the laughing part, I hear that argument all the time, and yet the games narrative never backs this, its just assumed by players based on a handful of examples, so I've never understood why people are so convinced of it, nor why it means I need to "do my research".

I'm so bored, omg....
